I have been riding horses since I was four years old. Most of it not competitive. I have always had regular (english) riding lessons and am used to riding with larger groups or alone. I have leased a couple of horses
Gaited horses: I have been riding Icelandic horses for about 10 years
Work with kids: I volunteer in an organizations that works with children for 5 years now and love the work with them! Due to that work I have to have regualr first aid courses, seminars on organizations, teamwork and teamleading
I usually helped out with things around the horses in exchange for some more riding and during the last year I worked at a farm in New Zealand where I was in charge of looking after about 15 horses, some of them endurance horses, youngsters and foals. As well as some expeiernce with starting horses but still have a lot to learn!
I am used to doing all the work that needs to be done around horses and am confidently doing so once I got the hang of how things work at your place!
I competet a little bit when I was younger but stopped due to bad experiences with the trainer/barn (bad handling of horses, very dirty, trying to teach kids how to whip horses instead of ride them). After that I didn't have many ambitions to start competing again
