Bio
I currently work in a private dressage barn in Montreal. I am looking for a job outside of Quebec that will help me move forward by giving me more work and riding experience. I prefer jumping, but I am willing to learn what is needed.
Qualifications

I am currently finishing my degree in Management at Concordia University, and I am hoping to do a Guelph certification for Equine Science to advance my knowledge in horse care. This will depend on the kind of work I end up doing and if I have the time to pursue it (if not, I will do it the following year).

Duties of Current Occupation

I have been working at Senneville Stables since Summer of 2024. I do stalls, turnout, grooming, feeding, cleaning, and maintenance when necessary. I do anything that needs to be done. Other experiences have been odd jobs, including working with kids.

Equine Work Experience

I've been around horses for a long time, so I can recognize behaviour, whether it is odd or off. I have handled many types of horses, considering the variety of personalities we have at the barn. I've had my fair share of a horse reacting to a leaf or a scary Christmas tree, and I tend to have a relatively calm but cautious reaction. The stallion/fresh gelding has always been a challenge, as he isn't socialized much with horses, but we usually handle him with a stud chain. The other stallion is not yet 2, so he is quite pleasant to handle in comparison. We also have horses with issues like: rushing doors, not wanting to be caught, or can't be walked, but we have a system for everything, which is usually dependent on how a barn is run.

Specialities

We have had 2 foals at the barn, 2 stallions (one recently gelded), and we have around 40 horses. I have not led a team but have rather done my part in it, coming up with better ideas or more efficient ways of doing things. Turnout is usually split in half (morning turnout and noon turnout), but we are usually 2-3, so it goes by fast.

Type of Ride Work

I have never been able to progress with a horse on my own, so my riding has fallen behind. The barn I rode at stopped teaching me anything new, and I grew tired of not learning anything, so I haven't been consistently riding for a couple of years. I try to go every once in a while to stay fresh. I have experience jumping more than anything. I've ridden a variety of horses, and I became a puppet for new/green horses. I've also ridden nicer horses, but I'd rather not solely do dressage.

Competition Details

I have not competed outside of a home barn competition, and I have never really been into competing. I do work at a barn that goes to Bromont or Florida, but because of my studies and the small number of horses that go, I have not followed them anywhere. I am not very knowledgeable in the competition world, and I prefer to focus on horses, but I am willing to do more or learn.
