Looking for a rider to exercise steeplechase horses. We have 12 very nice horses to get out with me on a daily basis. The horses are well trained and schooled, mostly off the flat track. I’m a former event rider so the horses know to go in a frame and jump gymnastics and courses, as well as going on proper gallops and works. Living accommodations are available on the farm in the beautiful Virginia countryside. These are strong, proper racehorses not for the meek rider.
A position has become available at our riding school in the Berkshire, it is a 5 day week, having Sunday and Monday off. We are located close to Windsor. We are lucky enough to have fantastic hacking and on-site facilities including both indoor and outdoor arenas. Competitive salary including private accommodation. The opportunity to further progress into teaching will be available.

I started riding at the age of 5 in western and 5 years later I changed to English. There I began to learn hunters and jumpers. As I moved up in levels of riding, I was asked to help coach riders and train horses. I’ve dealt with horses that have been abused, to newly bought horses that have a have small foundation in riding. I did not compete professionally as my family did not have the expenses to pay to go far in competing, never the less I was at the competitions helping to coach, groom and ensure the riders were all equipped.
I have no been able to touch upon experience with breeding and raising young foals, however I’ve helped clients in buying horses and training them. I work often with horses warmbloods, thoroughbred, mixed horses. I would say I am very persistent on things being clean and kept tidy. I get the job done in good time without taking shortcuts. I’m optimistic in many things, I’d say I do hold things to a moderate high level standards. Enough space to improve and learn and change standards due to env.
I’d say that majority of the horses that were used for schooling have come from a bad past. Therefore as a student and coach it was my job to learn how to handle certain horses. I have experience in flat work, hunting and jumping, but especially hunting.I take pride in flat work, as it’s the needed basis for any riding. I have no experience in dressage. I’ve worked with horses that only knew how to walk and trot, and slowly introduced them to steady canters,transitions and jumping,stable manners
