I am a hardworking individual with a good work ethic and a strong will to learn more and more about the equestrian world. I have good time management skills, am detail-oriented, and good at keeping myself organized and upbeat on early show mornings! I am able to calm horses and ride with a steady pace.
I have worked at riding facilities in KIngston, Ontario during the past five years. At Dream Catcher farm I did core stable hand chores: feeding, blanketing, booting, turning in/out, mucking, organizing equipment, basic first-aid, welcoming and assessing new riders, helping students prepare for lessons and teaching beginner lessons, (primarily tiny tots and a few autistic riders). I exercised horses and helped train some ponies. I was head camp counsellor for 2 summers: teaching lessons of 6-8 kids at varying levels. I also taught basic theory. At SJ Eventing I did core barn chores and some riding on their green horses. The work involved mucking out, feeding, turning in/out, organizing equipment, stacking hay, and maintaining fences, tackroom and feedroom. I have my C1 level in the Canadian Pony Club.
I have exercised horses, including young green horses, and introduced green horses to jumping. Schooling horses up to second level movements in dressage. I have also taught my personal horse and others that I am currently working with to stretch down across their backs through Will Faerber's Art2Ride groundwork. I have schooled 3'6 courses, and have jumped up to 4' as single fences. I regularly do cross-country schooling up to training level fences.
Competed in Trillium level Hunter Jumper shows. 2'3 with green large pony, 2'9 modified children's hunter, 0.9m and 1m jumpers. Ontario Horse Trials, I competed at the entry level. Schooling dressage shows. Local schooling shows at various levels, with many different horses. Participated in many clinics with different clinicians such as Stuart Black, Peter Grey, and Kirsten Blaeske. I am schooling my current horse at 1.1 m for next season.
