Qualifications
Experience. I’ve been around lots of different kinds of coaches, trainers, liberty workers and I’ve gained lots of knowledge from them.
Equine Work Experience
I started off my equine journey at 9 years old. Started in the western saddle but quickly changed to the local English barn, Halifax Junior Bengal Lancers. At lancers I learned my basics and started to move in the direction of hunter jumpers. Once I felt I was ready for something different, at 13 years old I bought my old Paint gelding, Dash. Dash is the horse that showed me I was definitely in it for the bonds you make and the horsemanship they truly teach you. I had him for 4 years until sadly I had to do the grown up thing and get a full time job. Horses and work can be hard to juggle so id really like to make it my job.
Specialities
Lunging Liberty Mucking stalls Bathing Feeding
Type of Ride Work
I’ve been on almost all the horses you can think of. The old push button guys that just strut along like they know their job, the ones that make your legs hurt for weeks after because they’re so lazy, the mouth sensitive ones that teach you to solely use seat and no hands, the rearing ones (my previous horse was infamous around the barn for rearing so he had lots of work on it!), the ones that want to see how high the can buck you in the air. Most under saddle experience is flat work and hunters
Competition Details
At Halifax Junior Bengal Lancers, I was a show groom for the hunters and jumpers. I love the environment of shows but I think I prefer the “making them look pretty” part rather than competing myself. I’ve taken part in some fun shows here and there but nothing crazy!
