Duties of Current Occupation
Managing a crew of construction workers
Equine Work Experience
I have worked as a stable hand at several barns while I went to college. I currently have horses at home in our home barn and I currently do the barn chores along with my sister. Mucking out, graining, turn out, mild veterinary care when needed, etc. I also groom all of my own horses for showing in the summer months braiding, clipping, bathing, mane pulling, even trailering, and anything else that’s needed.
Specialities
I am a long time equestrian for 15 years. I have worked around and been around horses for the entire 15 years. Stallions, foals, broodmares, problem horses, and many more. I manage a team currently at my construction job and have a business diploma with some management courses. High standard turn out is a key part of my beliefs and keeping a tidy environment is also very important to me.
Type of Ride Work
I have ridden almost every type of horse in my 15 years as an equestrian. Problem horses, green horses, and young horses. I have trained the last 3 horses I’ve owned on my own from green and also an off the track thoroughbred. I just finished a year in the hunters on the Gold Circuit in Nova Scotia but have also done jumpers and even cross country in the past. Flat and ground work is also very important to me and my horses we tend to do a lot of both of those.
Competition Details
I have competed on the Gold circuit in Nova Scotia for the past 6 years. I have no worked as a groom but I groom my own horses.
