Green Lane Farm situated in the heart of Guildford (Shamley Green) is a professional dressage yard with in excess of 15 horses, most of which live out at night. With world class facilities and a team of three we are looking to expand with the addition of an Assistant Groom.
Our yard and home is in a beautiful location, we have really gorgeous horses and high standards, the work is varied and you will have lots of freedom, it is a quiet and very friendly environment. Everyone who has worked here has loved it and still stay in contact.
Are you a confident rider, keen to work with a small busy and successful team. We are looking for a new member of staff who rides well and will carry out stable duties to a high standard. The right candidate will benefit form a good rate of pay, staff pension and a share of the stable bonus. Accommodation in a self contained mobile home on site is available. However the ability to ride is essential to this role.

Active competition barn, traveling to recognized and schooling shows all season and schooling cross country quite often. Riding experience necessary. Eventing experience is a plus! We have a vacancy for an Apprentice who has a passion for riding and learning the best of horse and pony care. We work with Haddon Training towards recognised qualifications. We offer 6 hours of a mixture of riding tuition and/or stable management and theory lectures each week. The undertaking of all stable duties under supervision is required. This position is 5 days a week including one evening until 9pm and one weekend day. There is a possibility of shared female accommodation.
I’m graduating from highschool at the end of June I'm extremely hard working and dedicated. I love sciences especially environmental and biology. I have been riding for 9 years and have schooled 3’ft at home and have competed up to 2’6 successfully.
As I’ve mentioned I’ve been riding for almost a decade. I love working with horses and it’s really benefitted my mental health over the years. I took riding lessons at NSEC until 2016 when I moved to the Sunshine Coast BC and got my own mare. I’ve since been taking riding lessons from my mother as she rode at a national level in the show jumping world. I’ve been schooling between 2’9 and 3’0ft at home and have competed at equestrian facilities such as Southland’s and Milner downs as well as my local pony club in the the 2’6 devision. For grade 12 I had to decide on a capstone project to graduate. For this project I restarted a OTTB as my mums next hunter. It’s gone well but has also taught me a lot about how to work with challenging horses who don’t always want to cooperate. I’ve worked for a friend taking care of her livestock and received excellent feedback from others.
I’m extremely hard working and dedicated as I mentioned before but I also love learning new things. I’m planning on taking a gap year before heading to university for the pre-veterinary program and then attending vet school. I’ve been riding for 9 years and have been competing for the last 2 years at 2’6 successfully but have schooled 3’0 at home. My love for our Equine partners always comes first and I am very meticulous when it comes to the care of the horses I work with.
I’ve mainly ridden in the showjumping arena for my career but have on occasion ridden in hunter classes and equitation.
