Duties of Current Occupation
Currently, I am a Senior Special Events Marketing Specialist at the City of Surrey, which I have worked at for the past six years. I create strategic marketing plans and supervise my team to execute them. I used to ride before I went to UBC.
Equine Work Experience
I have over 10 years of horse riding experience, having ridden from the age of 8 to 18. During that time, I also worked as a stable hand at various barns, including Twin Rivers and Poppy Lanes. My responsibilities included feeding and turning in/out horses, mucking stalls, and assisting with general barn maintenance. Although I paused riding due to university, I remain passionate about working with horses and am eager to apply my experience in a hands-on setting again.
Specialities
I have ridden young green horses and trained them to be safe for kids. I have led a team of 20 people in a corporate environment.
Type of Ride Work
I have experience in hunting and have ridden both young green horses and seasoned horses. During my time riding, I primarily rode a young leased pony named Connect the Dots and a Hanoverian gelding named Waldemar. My experience has given me the ability to handle different horse temperaments and develop confidence in the saddle across various riding conditions.
Competition Details
I have competed at local schooling shows (Milner, MREC) and at Thunderbird Show Park.
