Eager rider and former horse owner looking for work in the Southeast Florida area/ West Palm. Horses health is my main priority. I am looking for long time solution. Can lounge and i would be interested to get to ride some flatwork/hacking (not necessary, just wanting i could further my skills) I would need a live in-position and would be greatful if i can take my two wellbaved cats with me :)
I am a keen aspiring groom who has been working with horses on a voluntary basis, and am now looking for a full or part-time opportunity to progress my career and gain more experience. I am confident around horses and have been developing essential skills through volunteering at a livery yard and with a rescue. Ideally, I would be looking for a role in the Basingstoke area while I'm learning to drive, but happy to consider a live-in position in the wider Hampshire region or further afield.
My name is Daisie, I am 18 years old and have owned horses for the past 5 years. I have previously worked on an international showjumping yard and am keen to pursue my next job. I am open to any discipline and able to adapt to every yards standards and needs.
At present, my work is not equine focused, however I have no shortage of equine experience despite having not formally worked in an equestrian setting.
I began riding at age 5, and I was so lucky to get my first (and currently only) horse at 15. I grew up in a western saddle, learning to not just ride horses, but learning everything about them. I have no formal equine experience through a college, but I do have 16 years of experience around everything from western, to chuckwagon race horses, eventing, and now show jumping. I additionally have extensive first aid experience, and while my training is mostly human-focused, I am no stranger to helping cast horses, putting on poultice, or flushing puncture wounds (ew!). A lot of my knowledge is self-taught, but supported by certified instructors who have let me use this knowledge to better my own riding skills and better my understanding of how horses work. I firmly believe it is not just enough to know how to ride - you must understand anatomy and groundwork as well. I am also fortunate to have had some experience with foals and yearlings as well.
I mostly ride english now. With my current horse, we can comfortably and safely jump up to around 1.30m. I do a lot of catch riding as well, especially after my current coach was injured and I picked up all her rides until she recovered. Oddly enough, I also have a lot of experience with equine rehab. My coach's two horses, as well as one of my best friend's, were injured and needed consistent rehab. This often involved dealing with a number of, let's say, sudden and unexpected aerial maneuvers
My competition experience is not overly vast, but I am a quick and extremely dedicated learner. I have accompanied a few of my coaches to shows, including at Spruce Meadows, and was able to timely and efficiently get horses tacked up and to the right warm up rings. Part of my interest in applying to equine jobs is to be able to learn more about high-level competitions and use what I learn to continue to provide excellence in service.
