Achieved Pony Club Efficiency 'C' Standard Certificate
I have experience with horses that are temperamental, calm, soft, energetic, lazy, unpredictable, OTTB and green. I compete in eventing (EV), dressage (DR) and showjumping (SJ). I have competed up to novice DR, 1.05m SJ and 95cm EV. I have limited experience with freshly broken horses and youngstock due to lack of opportunities, but am keen to learn. I have had a number of instructors, mainly in DR, SJ or XC. I am always looking for more opportunities to participate in lessons and clinics. I've had lessons in basic horsemanship. I have my PC C Certificate, so I have an understanding of horse care (incl. grooming, conditioning and health care). I have experience with horses that are injured and bringing a horse back into work after an injury/spell. My current horse is called Harry, a rising 7yo OTTB who I have had for just over 2 years and has potential. We used to compete at 95cm eventing, however due to behavioural issues we dropped back to 65cm. At our last event we moved up to 80cm.
I am mainly involved in training for and competing in eventing, showjumping and dressage. I have experience with young and difficult horses, including OTTBs. I enjoy bush riding and am comfortable to ride without a saddle if necessary. I have an understanding of basic horse management and care. I am quite happy to groom, lunge and carry out general stable tasks.
Currently I do showjumping, eventing and dressage work. However, this is only with my competition horse as my others are not suitable for competing/retired. With those horses, I enjoy going for bush rides, typically without a saddle, that are mostly walking with short trot/canter sections. I also take my competition horse on trail rides for fitness and a nice relaxing time. When I was younger I did some hacking.
