I’ve done everything from breaking untouched 10 year old horses for pleasure to training winners of state medal finals and ribbon winners at USEF pony finals and Indoors. A mature and reliable individual with transferrable skills and a varied work experience, seeks a temp role to complete Ride Safe & general riding. Opportunity to ride out/develop in-hand work welomed. Home counties preferred.
Eager rider and former horse owner looking for work in the Southeast Florida area/ West Palm. I have been around horses my entire childhood and am looking to gain experience in the equine industry now that I am older. I am a quick learner, easily able to adapt, and have a natural passion for horses.
I worked at Dunroamin Standardbreds, for 3 years on and off. Helping out with tacking up race horses cleaning boxes, scanning mares, assisting at races and handling yearlings at yearling sales.
I am now currently working at the Equine Hospital, feeding and cleaning out boxes.
cleaning boxes, feeding horses, overall cleanliness of the hospital
I got my first pony during summer in 2008, unfortunately we only had him a few weeks before he got bitten by a snake. About a year later I got my second pony, and since then, haven’t looked back. He taught me balance, hard work and to never give up. Since I was 9 I have always had a horse, they've never been expensive, flashy horses, but they’ve taught me to be patient and hard working. I have a passion for eventing, especially jumping, with my favourite discipline being cross country. Until late, I never did much dressage, having horses who didn’t want to listen, but over the course of my riding career, have learnt to love the gracefulness and beauty of it. I’ve broken in horses and ponies, taught horses who have never seen a jump before to soar over a metre and with some help from instructors, been introduced to the world of dressage with my amazing warmblood gelding, who unfortunately, became too old for the sport and was retired to live out his days on a farm in June of last year.
I have extensive horse knowledge, having been around them for more than half of my life. I'm reasonable at plaiting, braiding, pulling manes and can tack up a horse with my eyes closed.
I've done all phases of eventing, and even some cutting training when at pony club. I was actively involved in polocrosse for around a year, until we got my polocrosse mare in foal, so I had to take a break from it. I attended Bunbartha Pony Club, from 2009 until 2016, when I then moved over to Goulburn Valley Show Jumping Club to improve my jumping abilities. I have been an active member of GVSJC for two years now and I love every second of it.
I try to compete as much as possible, but as my sister races boats I don't always have a way to get to competitions. So currently this year I have been unable to compete. However a few of my main achievements are; 4th place- Cobram Horse Trials 2014 (Grade 5, first ever HT) 3rd place- Bunbartha Combined Training 2015 (Grade 5) 5th place- Cobram Horse Trials 2016 (Grade 4, first grade 4 event on a new horse) 1st place- Bunbartha Combined Training 2016 (Grade 3, first event on new horse)
