Duties of Current Occupation
I am a qualified Dermal Clinician however have grown up riding horses (eventing to CCN1*). I have since then had a couple of jobs working for an eventing yard in East Sussex in 2018 and as a private groom for a top show jumper in New Zealand in 2019.
Equine Work Experience
In my past jobs as a groom, I was in East Sussex for 4 months before moving back to New Zealand and was a private groom for 1 year. However, as mentioned above I also grew up riding horses. I have a positive attitude and am always eager to learn new skills, as well as a hard worker I aim to get all tasks done to a high standard.
If the opportunity arises I would love to ride, I am a very confident and competent rider as I've worked with younger horses as well as top level.
Specialities
I have a great passion for horses and adore working with them. In my previous roles as a groom, I covered all yard duties including mucking out, feeding, grooming, tacking up and down, putting horses on and off the walker, lunging, hacking, flatwork, and some jumping. While working as a private groom I traveled to shows and was working with 3-4 horses per event. Experience with bandaging, and some massage techniques as I worked alongside an Equine therapeutic massage therapist.
Type of Ride Work
Have some experience with younger horses and starting them out on the flat however no breaking-in experience but very eager to learn!
From competing when I was younger I have done dressage, show jumping, cross country, and hunting.
Competition Details
During my time as a private groom I traveled to shows and would normally be working with about 3-4 horses per show and the rider was competing up to CSI*.
