Equine Work Experience

To properly introduce myself, Hi, I'm Steph :) A 23yr old Aussie Equestrian. I have my own full business coaching, training and exercising horses in South East QLD. I have a love for OTTB's and as I write this, have JUST finished trekking two Ex-Racehorses 5330km down Australia's East Coast (www.freedomoffthetrack.com.au) Prior to the trek, I was based with Alycia Burton (www.freeridingnz.com) living with, learning from and working for her for the past 3 years. Primarily showjumping. I have also helped run youth riding programs, camps and disability work and love helping people connect with horses. I spent my younger years living overseas, learning all things horse from anyone and everyone I could. I love learning new things and having fun with my horses, not always just training.

Type of Ride Work

Most of my personally owned horses have been OTTB's, with clients horses ranging from brumbies, stock horses, quater horses, standardbreds to heavy horses.

I was primarily showjumping, groundwork, exercising horses and doing flatwork (won't insult dressage by saying I ride dressage!) up until completing the trek. And and now quite interested in learning more about long riding, trekking with horses and maybe dabble in some VERY low level western disciplines as well :)

Competition Details

I'm not a particularly competitive person, and while I'll take my horses to jump clubs, training days and the odd competition day I don't yet have much experience competing to win.
