Equine Work Experience
A family member of mine had horses from when I was very small. I began riding lessons at a local riding school when I was 10 then when i turned 13 I volunteered at the riding school as a stable hand. In that time I learned all about horse care and riding. During summer I would spend 5 days a week there and have assisted at many shows. I had 2 horses on loan for 6 months (seperate times) and I also had my own horse for 2 years (irish draught x thoroughbred). I have worked with clydesdales and done ridden classes and in hand showing with them. I have worked with children and adults and also assisted with some of the riding for disabled classes. I learned a lot about driving but never got the chance to persue that any further due to finance and university.
Type of Ride Work
I am confident and competent at riding and love all aspects of horse care.
I can jump and minimal cross country although it will have been a few years so a little practice would be needed.
I've never worked with race horses but am willing to give anything a go.
I've mostly ridden english saddle however have ridden western maybe 5 or 6 times. I recently attended a camp draught with a previous employer. Worked the horses every day, assisted with anything required and went cattle droving.
