Advanced Certificate in Equine Studies. Business and Administration Level 3.
Currently working in the Racing Industry on Administration duties in Australia. Have previously worked on showjumping, dressage, livery yards as a groom and personal assistant for an international showjumper back in the UK.
I have ridden since I was eight years old and have had my own for seventeen years. Competing in showjumping and dressage/all PC activities whilst growing up. After an accident when I was seventeen whilst working on a dealing yard I have never been as confident however would love to build this back. I can confidently tack up, load, muck out, groom etc and look after clients horses as if they were my own. My previous typical work day would be mucking out 10-15 stalls, sort feeds for morning and afternoon, feed, rug changes and turn out. I would then see clients/do the administration billing for the day/teaching the under 14s and manage all other enquiries and then sort the bedding for the evening, bring in, rug change, feed and any other requirements that were needed for each individual horse. I'm not afraid of hard work and used to long (and dark) hours back in Scotland.
Throughout my equine employment I have always built a great relationship with my employers. Whilst working on dealing yards I would be the first point of contact for advertisements on the horses for sale. I find it easy to build a quick rapport with clients, including clients who were send us their youngsters for breaking in and would often be the only point of contact for updates. Although I'm not a confident rider anymore, I love horses and will do yard duties all day long.
Used to be super confident however had a couple of bad falls as I've got older and not ridden as much as been travelling Australia for two years. Would love to get my confidence back however happy to work as a groom. Often I'm used for schooling kids ponies who came in for training as I'm short.
