Equine Work Experience
+10 years experience with horses, being a competitive show jumper 115cm classes on my cat 1 horses (141-148 cm ponies). I have owned 3 green young horses, I have educated from just broken in, to good jumpers and basic dressage skills. I have worked cattle from horseback for 6 months in total in au, USA and Canada. Doing mustering and weaner education, groundwork with the colts, desensitising, lounging, commands, first saddle and bridle (everything leading up to first ride) I worked as a track rider at a pre-training facility for racehorses (Fernhill Tom/Greg Mcdermott), riding everything from stallions, 2 year old filly and colts that have just been broken in and performance racehorses. Mostly slowwork with draw reins to educate the young racers. Also did some flatwork in the arena with the troublemakers. Have done re training off of the track thoroughbreds as well. Taking care and grooming his show jumpers. Groomed 2 polo season in AU up to 18 goal, doing sets and singles.
Specialities
My strongest asset is definitely my attention to detail. It’s so important around horses and is such a help with monitoring injuries, having the overview of the stable, tack and so on.
