I am a keen aspiring groom who has been working with horses on a voluntary basis, and am now looking for a full or part-time opportunity to progress my career and gain more experience. I am confident around horses and have been developing essential skills through volunteering at a livery yard and with a rescue. Ideally, I would be looking for a role in the Basingstoke area while I'm learning to drive, but happy to consider a live-in position in the wider Hampshire region or further afield.
My name is Daisie, I am 18 years old and have owned horses for the past 5 years. I have previously worked on an international showjumping yard and am keen to pursue my next job. I am open to any discipline and able to adapt to every yards standards and needs.
My main duties at my current job is taking care of 8 polo horses and 2 sport horses. This includes exercising the horses, grooming at competitions, mucking, feeding and lunging.
I’ve owned my own horse, while I was still living in Luxembourg, with whom I competed in dressage and showjumping. I’ve been riding since I was 9 years old at a riding school and sport horse stable called Derby II and spent two weeks every summer participating in horse clinics and riding camp in Denmark, during the summer. Being a young horse enthusiast I spent the vast majority of my free time helping out at Derby II, helping with training young horses and generally lending a hand at competitions.
I have experienced a great variety of equine sport and horsemanship throughout my travels and have become accustomed to adapt to different riding styles and horses of all temperaments.
I had the immense pleasure to spend a month at a stable in South Africa as a volunteer. The work at the stables involved organizing our work tasks amongst the other volunteers. The tasks included: mucking, lunging, exercising the horses in both dressage and jumping, grooming and tacking up for safari rides. The year before I spent three weeks in Iceland helping with the trails, tacking up horses and mustering the group for the multi-day rides.
As mentioned I competed in dressage and show jumping as a teenager on my own horse and the riding schools horses. The competitions were all held in Luxembourg, the show jumping level was 90 cm and the dressage was a level E and L. These levels consist of a basic program with more advanced exercises mixed in.
