Full time barn manager wanted to run small dressage training barn. Live on premises. Excellent working conditions and competitive compensation. Attention to detail, excellent knowledge of horse management, and a kind attitude toward staff and horses necessary, as well as excellent problem solving skills Must have a cheerful and positive approach.
Duties include but are not limited to: management, training, and scheduling staff; supply inventory and ordering; assuring client satisfaction; maintenance of relationships with farriers, vets, and clinicians and service providers; and all aspects of horse management, including but not limited to feeding principles, basic training principles, basic emergency medical care, and basic ground training. Basic understanding of major facility systems, such as heating, cooling, irrigation, drainage, cleaning, footing, and tractor drag. Some daily stall cleaning possible, picking runs, and lifting bales of hay, bags of shavings, and bags of grain. Must be physically able to safely lift 50 pounds.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years barn management experience, at least 10 years horse experience, and be over 21 years of age.
