Nearly all have been sired by cutting or reining, million dollar sires such as Wimpys Little Step, Gallo Del Cielo, SG Frozen Enterprize, Others have been sired by up and coming producing stallions such as Yellow Jersey, Starjac Vintage, & Wranglin In Chex. We do not train nor board outside horses & are also involved in an equine jobs for youth program.

Wimbledon Village Stables is a very successful British Horse Society approved riding school and livery yard. We are offering apprenticeships that will allow you to learn and develop as you work with our horses on a day to day basis. In order to qualify for one of our apprenticeships, you need experience in caring for horses; you must demonstrate a good work ethic and be physically fit; you should enjoy interacting with people – whether adults or children, clients or visitors – and be able to provide the friendly welcome that is a hallmark of Wimbledon Village Stables. You must be willing to put in 40 hour weeks, including a weekend day, as is the case with all our staff, whether qualified or apprentices.
You will work as part of the team in taking care of our 25 horses, as well as undertaking general yard duties, preparing horses for lessons and working with our qualified instructors to help our members and clients. Along the way, you will pick up plenty of information on the practical aspects of running a successful riding school and come to appreciate the unseen hard work that is required to ensure we can deliver the top quality service on which we pride ourselves – our top priorities are excellent care of our horses as well as ensuring safe and enjoyable rides for our members and clients. Many of the skills you will develop will be invaluable to you in your future career – whatever it may ultimately be – as you will experience first class customer care, excellent team work and the administrative/back office tasks that underpin any successful business. Our apprenticeships last one year but can be extended to two years. Your career development and qualification targets will be set and monitored by Haddon Training – there will be regular visits to assess your progress. We also offer to train all our apprentices towards the British Horse Society exams as we like to encourage our employees to become qualified riding instructors.
Wimbledon Village Stables is a family-run riding school and livery stables located in the heart of Wimbledon Village. We are a British Horse Society Approved establishment, and are therefore required to operate to their high standards and in doing so we have received 2 Certificates of Excellence. We are also fully approved by the Association of British Riding Schools. The riding school was established in 1914 and since we took it over in 1980 we have employed modern up-to-date practices and procedures to our horses, our clients, our staff and our environment.
We are located in the heart of Wimbledon Village just a few hundred yards from Wimbledon Commons 1,100 acres and Richmond Parks 2,400 acres both of which provide spectacular riding country. We have 25 horses stabled here and the stables is run as a Membership club.
