Thoroughbred breeding farm looking for a Farm Assistant. Fortune Ticket, a full brother to Gun Runner, currently stands at Lady Olivia at North Cliff and we are working hard to help him shine as a stud.

Physical labor required, including fence repair, stall cleaning, and general horse care. Farm carpentry skills and landscaping experience preferred. Candidate should expect to work in all weather conditions and may be expected to commute between properties in Maryland and Northern Virginia. Primary Location is expected to be in Maryland.

The candidate will be working with youngstock, mares, and stallions. Confidence around horses is a major requirement. English riding experience is preferred, quiet hands on English contact is required.

Candidate should be organized, proactive, and willing to grow and learn as a horseman. They may learn to recognize basic horse ailments(i.e. colic, abscess, etc.), treat injuries and illnesses as they arise, or administer IV or IM shots as needed. They will work closely with the Farm Manager to maintain thorough records of breeding and racing stock, communicate effectively with employees and contractors, and maintain herd health.

Salary: $45,000 depending on experience level
