We are a small sport horse breeding, training, and showing operation, located in central Virginia, seeking a responsible, mature, dedicated, and competent horse care worker. Our facility is located in Gordonsville, VA, which is west of Richmond, VA and very close to Charlottesville, VA. The ideal individual will provide daily care for our equestrian operation, which includes youngstock (weanlings, yearlings, etc...), pregnant and open broodmares, geldings, and stallions. Many of the horses live outside 24/7 in a variety of paddocks and fields with run-in shelters. Daily activities include morning and late afternoon/evening feedings, turn out and turn in, insuring availability of fresh, abundant water, cleaning stalls, run-in shelters, etc... Excellent communication skills, as well as the ability to effectively implement owner and manager/trainer requests, are required. If interested, the opportunity to ride and train with local and in -house dressage and eventing professionals may be available. Also, individuals with appropriate aptitude and riding skills may have an opportunity to ride or assist our manager/trainer with starting young horses. On site housing may be available very soon; also, though we currently have no available space for worker owned horses, this may change in the future or we may be able to assist with finding a close and affordable boarding scenario for a worker horse.
