Sprieser Sporthorse, a world-class dressage training program, seeks an ambitious and experienced horse care professional to join our fun, highly organized, and perhaps-a-bit-irreverent team. We make happy horses and riders that also win big hairy things, and we take great care of our team so that ours is a joyous place to work every day.

We’re looking for an experienced horseperson to manage the care of our 20 full training horses, and to direct the team of working students who minds them. The role is one part head groom - being in charge of the care and health of our horses, coordinating with our barn manager on vet/farrier/whatever appointments - and one part working student coordinator - pointing our interns in the right direction, and helping teach the next generation.

We run a tight ship that has enough employees to do what needs doing. Our expectations are reasonable, and our day ends at a civilized hour. The job has some flexibility in exactly what the responsibilities are, and could include riding.

Applicants must be fluent English speakers eligible to work in the US without sponsorship who use their words and are team players. No drama queens, no crankypants. Applicants must be able to lift 50 lbs, administer an IV shot, braid and body clip. Must love horses, humans and dumb jokes.

Compensation includes salary, housing and the possibility of a full training stall. Long term employees eligible for retirement benefits.

Head Trainer Lauren Sprieser is a USDF Gold, Silver and Bronze Medalist with extensive experience bringing horses up to the international level. We are a fun, positive environment with a barn full of excellent horses, and stellar humans who love them. Our amateur clients are fun and diligent with no drama, and our employees stay for years. We work hard, but we also play hard, and nicely with others. Our horses are well mannered and well disciplined. You want to work in a place like ours!
