Private dressage breeding & training barn nestled in the mountains near Park City, UT is looking for a groom/working student to augment our staff. We're small: 15 horses, all in full training. We value attention to detail, good knowledge & a great sense of humor. For the right person, this is a pretty special spot.

Nuts & bolts: 5.5 day workweek, avg 45h week total. You'll help the other staff do chores & keep the barn running smoothly. Possibility of lessons for the right candidate.

• Daily feeding, watering & turnout • Stall mucking, barn tidying • Picking out turnouts • Grooming training horses • Going to shows to support trainers • Helping with barn projects • Odds & ends: handling horses for vets & farriers

The ideal candidate is comfortable handling big horses and babies, and can manage minor first aid (wrapping, colic signs.) We are a friendly crew that prizes excellent horse care & equally good communication. Key to it all is a great attitude: flexibility and common sense are assets!

*In that vein, for a local candidate, we can also share some of the duties with another staff member & make this a groom-only job, meaning prepping horses for daily work.

Shared 2 bedroom, 1 bath apartment on the property.

For the right candidate, there may be opportunity for lessons & light riding of young or training horses. Possibility of board for one horse. There is a cute 2 BR apartment on site that you would share with the Ranch Manager. Past staff have been able to participate in clinics with Olympic judges, as well as had the opportunity to compete in dressage competitions on Revel horses.
