Maintenance/Repair/Facilities Manager Needed With Equine Knowledge.
As I will be putting this facility in Texas up for sale as soon as it is prepped to sell and therefore I am seeking a Person or Working Couple, (NON SMOKER) that is an all around skilled handy man that can perform maintenance/repairs in prepping the property for marketing.
Candidate/s should possess some abilities to work with the horses, if a working couple then partner could work Part or Full Time with the horses.
PRIMARY MAINTENANCE & REPAIR DUTIES:
- repair fencing
- welding and straightening damaged gates and panels,
- cutting dead oak trees
- mowing pastures with 15 foot batwing shredder,
- weed eating fence lines, tractor/loader operating, correcting soil erosion problem,
- metal building roof repair,
- cleaning barns/stalls,
- power washing all facilities
- minor carpentry/electrical/plumbing
- general mechanical skills required on equipment (need an all around handy man).
This is a private, quiet facility, so no horses boarded. We are a closed farm up a 1/3 mile driveway with locked gate for privacy and security. I am planning to move to Central FL and build a new farm like I did twice in the past in CO & TX.
Currently have 44 horses on 132 acres, located 14 mi. S of Athens TX.
Time is of the essence, anxious to sell & relocate.
PLAN: -1- initially prep the current facilities, land and horses for marketing...5-8 weeks of long days -2- sell current farm, possibly as a turnkey operation...the land/ranch market is currently very hot -3- preferably purchase raw land in FL and build all new facilities -4- move the horses into the new farm and live happily ever after
Live on site, utilities included.
Monthly salary is commensurate with abilities and experience, to be determined after my detailed questionnaire is completed and returned.
$17,000 in total bonuses.
Requirements
All round Equine Working Farm Manager. Initially, the plan is to totally prep the current farm consisting of 132 acres and 13,800SF of facilities for marketing. Market conditions for real estate are extremely positive. Need to have the farm ready to show when the grass greens up and spring is in the air, before the heat of summer.

Accommodation
Private living area includes all utilities, appliances, heat A/C, Dish TV-210 channels, minimal room for children. Limited on pets...my 5 YO Catahoula herds the horses, this is his domain. There is an RV hook up next to the barn.
