Groom/Assistant Barn Manager/Rider Near Nashville

Private warmblood breeding farm seeking responsible, independent individual for long term full-charge groom/assistant barn manager/rider position. This person needs to be a "can do anything" type personality. Our horses and ponies are handled from day 1. Their care is the priority. Duties to include all expected care for horses/ponies from cleaning stalls, water buckets, turn out/in, AM/PM feeding, keep barn tidy and clean, dragging and raking rings, moving jumps. Able to lift 50# hay bales and feed bags. Checking fencing for breaks, etc. Holding for vet or farrier. Cleaning tack, grooming horses with bathing, clipping, brushing, mane pull, etc. As a breeding farm, we have stallions, foals, yearling and young stock, broodmares, retirees and ex-show horses. Need to know how to properly lunge and tack up horses. Ability to give IM and PO meds.

Must be comfortable with young equines and stallions. We are seeking a CALM individual with NO ANXIETY problems around horses. Non-smoker required. Riding is not required for this position but a pony-size riding groom will be given preference. Individual needs to have their own reliable transportation. Housing offered case by case. Must have no criminal records and be able to pass a background check. Candidate should LOVE ponies, big goofy dogs and barn cats. This is an equine job. This requires work in all weather, hot, humid or cold.

The farm features 12 stalls between 2 barns, foaling stall, climate controlled tack room, full bathroom and wash room. Hot/cold water wash stall inside and 2 outdoor cold wash stalls, seperate office and feed shed. 2 competition size arenas with 150 x 250 outdoor all weather footing and covered/inside arena 80 x 180. 17 fields and paddocks, seperate hay barn. Ability to drive a tractor is a plus. Ownership on-site 24/7. Must be 18 years old. Option to bring 1 horse. Mon-Fri schedule. Minimal boarders or clients onsite, so nice quiet, drama-free environment.
