Seeking an assistant barn manager to help keep our daily barn running smoothly. We are a private farm that focuses our main priority on our breeding program and development of young ponies and horses for the hunter/jumper ring. This position has minimal traffic in the barn, so it is a sole charge type position with responsibility for daily horse care duties in the barn, including, but not limited to stall cleaning, hay, water, turn-out/in, keeping barn clean. Farm is family operated and family onsite at all times. We host clinics, warmblood inspections and horse shows onsite.
Individual needs to be comfortable with foals, yearlings, young stock and stallions (our stallions are VERY WELL BEHAVED).
Need to be able to move hay/alfalfa bales, etc. Need to be dependable, one-time, have your own transportation. No housing available at this time. Ability to drive a tractor and ring drag is a plus.
Mon-Fri schedule, no weekends required but extra shifts or riding time on weekends may be available. No Smoking. Working independently several hours per day is a must.
*** please note that we are NOT seeking a trainer. This is not a riding position. Riders will be considered only as they understand they are applying for a primary post to care for horse and barn.
