Equestrian Coordinator

The 173-acre Equestrian Center is located in the center of a unique community in the South Carolina low country. The Equestrian Coordinator will provide exceptional customer service and care to members, guests, associates and horses while promoting a fun, productive and safe environment for all.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Oversee all Longfield programs including trail rides, pony activities, riding lessons, and exercise rides -Conduct beginner to advanced riding lessons, Guiding trail rides, Leading pony rides and supervising paint the pony sessions -Exercise and conditioning rides on privately owned horses -Schedule guest activities -Provide Associate training -Supervise Stable Attendants and assist them in daily tasks -Participate in the budgeting process -Assist management in the recruiting and training of new Associates -Daily monitoring of the health and well-being of each horse and reporting any issues or concerns-Daily horse care. This includes, but is not limited to grooming, turnout, hand walking as needed, etc -Monitoring supply levels. -Monitoring all areas of the Equestrian Center for safety and cleanliness- Assisting with vet, farrier and other professional appointments as needed -Other and additional duties as directed by Management

QUALIFICATIONS: Display a strong ability to lead and direct associates -Communicate confidently with superiors, peers and subordinates-Experience in teaching riding lessons -Excellent horse husbandry and handling skills. Comfortable handling difficult horses -Knowledge of equine and human first aid -Ability to recognize a sick or lame horse

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Capable of working extended hours, to include weekends, nights and holidays -Able to preform reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, twisting, lifting, and climbing -Able to perform standing and walking activities -Lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs. frequently and 75 lbs. occasionally -Working environment is both indoors and outdoors and all weather conditions
