The Barn Manager position controls all health and working details for our herd of 35+ draft horses: Diet, working days, farrier schedules, vet visits, documentation, and health records. Additionally the Barn Manager is the head supervisor of all barn staff and farm staff: Hiring, schedules, training, managing, performance evaluations, attendance. Additionally the barn manager oversees a portion of the facilities downtown and harness/ equine equipment in ours stables. This position combines both the management of people, facilities, and a large working herd of draft horses. Old South Carriage Co is in its 40th year of operations and looking for an experienced equine manager to help this growing operation and continue to give amazing tours of Historic downtown Charleston. This position requires the ability to multi-task and manage both humans and horses alike. Experience with working draft horses is a must and the ability to work within a large team is necessary.
