Duties: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Assists and oversees watering animals and measuring, mixing and apportioning feed and feed supplements according to feeding instruction and documents same.
• Washes, brushes, trims and curries animals’ coats to clean and improve their appearance.
• Inspects animals for disease, illness, and injury and treats animals according to instruction. Reports all suspected illnesses and injuries to the Equestrian Director and/or veterinarian.
• Assist with cleaning animals’ quarters and replenishing bedding.
• Exercises animals.
• Assist with unloading and storing feed and supplies.
• Turns horses in and out.
• Performs daily stable duties; such as cleaning feed and water buckets, lounge, and isles.
Requirements
Must be competent in handling horses and willing to tackle any task assigned.

Elk River Club is a seasonal private member owned club in the mountains of North Carolina. Our season runs May through October each year. The Equestrian Center appeals to both members who own horses and those who simply enjoy casual riding. Situated at 4,500 feet, the magnificent 30-stall equestrian center and 40 acres of highland pastures and paddocks are horse heaven! Adjacent are an additional 140 acres of riding preserve and miles of beautiful nature trails for horse and rider to explore.
Within the stable there are 30 stalls, 3 tack rooms, inside and outside wash racks, and a comfortable member's lounge for relaxation after a long trail ride. Adjacent to the stable are rings for riders to practice riding and jumping.
