We are seeking a dedicated Equine Care Technician to join our team! In this role, you will provide comprehensive care for our equines, assist with rehabilitation and medical management tasks, and help maintain a supportive environment for our rescued equines. Riding is possible for a qualified candidate but not required. Primary Duties: Feeding, grooming, and providing basic hoof care. • Administering oral medications and performing therapeutic tasks requiring close equine contact. • Assisting with holding horses for farriers and managing turnouts. • Performing light farm chores such as cleaning feed buckets, sweeping hay/feed mats, and filling/cleaning water troughs. (Note: Mucking stalls or paddocks is not a typical part of this role.) • Utilizing rehabilitation tools such as Pegasus Class IV laser, Magnawave, Respond PEMF blanket, EquiRelease fascia massage gun, Revita Vet devices, CO2 Therapy, and Equicore System (training provided). • Executing manual massage, stretching, and cavaletti exercises as required.
Requirements
Skills and Physical Requirements: • Strong experience in ground handling of horses of varied sizes and temperaments. • Proficiency in proper grooming techniques and basic wound care, including first aid. • Knowledge of hoof care, standing wraps/bandages, hoof soaking, and abscess wrapping. • Physical ability to lift 50 pounds, bend, twist, and squat as needed. • Driving John Deere Gators or similar RTVs for farm navigation. (Walking across the farm is minimal, as horses are often ponied off gators or golf carts.)
