Old Tavern Farm is seeking someone to be responsible for morning and evening feeding of 15 mares and 10 yearlings (exact numbers vary with the season) on Saturdays and Sundays.

Job responsibilities include: -Feeding and haying horses outside in pastures

• Turning horses in and out
• Cleaning stalls when horses are kept in (we bed on shavings)
• Filling water troughs
• Ability to recognize colic or any other health issues and report to management
• Handling young stock; yearlings and newborn foals

It is important to recognize that this is a split shift requiring the candidate to come in the morning and then return in the afternoon / evening depending on the time of year. We typically feed at 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. in the winter and around 6-7p.m. in the summer.
