This rider/resident trainer position entails riding, training, developing, showing and overseeing the care of approximately 8 show hunter prospects ranging from 4 years of age to 9 years of age.
Responsibilities include riding and training horses at home, showing horses on both the local circuit and the A circuit, shipping to horse shows and vet clinic, and overseeing a small staff.
An integral component of this position includes riding/training hunters and hunter prospects and assuming responsibility for their development under saddle and over fences from the baby greens to the first years and the national derbies. "A" circuit show experience in the hunters IS required.
The position could be a wonderful opportunity for a young professional who is looking to make a name for him/herself, or it could be the ideal opportunity for an experienced professional who is looking to work with a single owner. Some accomplishments of our horses include Zone HOTY awards, ribbons at Devon, ribbons at Capital Challenge, ribbons at Kentucky Incentive Finals, Circuit champion at HITS Saugerties, Circuit champion at Old Salem, Tri-colors at WEF (while on lease) etc.
