We are currently seeking a full-time Veterinary Assistant to join our team. Our Veterinary Assistants are essential in supporting our veterinarians in the field and maintaining the efficiency and organization of their daily operations. They also play an integral role in supporting our administrative team, providing efficient service to clients, and assisting with equipment, laboratory and inventory management.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is passionate about equine health, enjoys a hands-on approach and has a desire to learn and develop skill sets and knowledge. The ideal candidate is highly organized, has strong communication skills, an excellent work ethic, and can anticipate the needs of the patient, client, and veterinarian.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist veterinarians with ambulatory examinations, treatments, and procedures in the field.
• Safely handle and restrain horses of all temperaments.
• Prepare and maintain veterinary vehicles with appropriate medications, supplies, and equipment for appointments and emergencies.
• Collect and process clinical laboratory samples.
• Provide routine care to patients under supervision and as directed.

Job Requirements:

• Strong horse handling and restraint skills are required.
• Able to lift up to 50lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Schedule flexibility and available to work Saturdays.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.
• A strong work ethic and attention to detail needed.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment and willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of equine experience required with strong horse handling skills a must.
• Veterinary practice experience preferred.
• Veterinary Technician licensure a plus.
