Groom/Trainer We are looking for an experienced, hard-working, knowledgeable, reliable, and cheerful groom/trainer to join our team at Full Moon Farm in Pennington, NJ. We breed and train Norwegian Fjord Horses. Training experience in groundwork and round pen is required; we employ natural horsemanship techniques. We work mostly with young and green horses, teaching manners and basics. Riding ability a plus but not required. Responsibilities also include some mucking, feeding, grooming, turn out/in, and other tasks associated with maintaining clean and organized stables and pastures. Willingness to (happily) pitch in wherever help is needed is key. Position requires 7 - 8 hours/day, 4-5 days/week - including most Saturdays, if possible. The right applicant is flexible, able to faithfully follow instructions, self-motivated, has reliable transportation, is passionate about horses and is looking for a long-term position. Competitive compensation based on experience and ability. This is not a training position, but does offer the opportunity to observe many aspects of horse breeding, care and training – from birth to retirement. Fjords are a special breed, extremely smart and personable and, in general, a joy to work with. Benefits - vacation, holidays, sick time, assistance with health insurance - are available after 6 months. Getting to work with Fjords - especially the babies - is the biggest benefit, and starts the very first day you join us at Full Moon Farm. 🙂 No smokers please. No drugs. If you honestly have the required experience and qualifications, please email resume to Jill Kosek.

Full Moon Farm breeds, trains and sells Norwegian Fjord Horses on a beautiful 138 acre farm in the heart of New Jersey horse country. We have between 20 - 28 Fjords of all ages on the property, and are one of the largest Fjord breeders in North America. Fjords are friendly, smart and people-oriented, making them a joy to work with. Many of our horses live out 24/7 in pastures with sheds and automatic waterers. We inseminate via AI and live cover; we usually have one or two stallions on the property. We do ground training and socialization here; most of the horses are sent to my trainer for training under saddle and competing. We are located approximately an hour from New York City and Philadelphia, and our local towns of Lambertville, NJ and New Hope PA are full of great restaurants and unique shops. In addition to year-round horse shows of every kind, we have a multitude of other entertainments available , from theater to concerts to just about any kind of festival you can imagine.
