Wranglers with Swan Mountain Outfitters lead daily trail rides in and around Glacier National Park in Northwest Montana. Depending on location, wranglers may also lead cookout and overnight rides.
You are expected to learn about the history, geology, animals, and plants of Glacier National Park (training provided) and convey this information to guests, in addition to instructing them on basic horsemanship and ensuring their saftey on rides.
Wranglers are in the saddle for about 6 hours per day, at the walk ONLY. The remainder of the 12 hour work day is spent on horse care, barn chores, trail maintenance, or customer service.
Knowledge of basic horsecare and horsemanship is required. Western riding and familiarity with western tack preferred, however, English riders adapt easily to our operation.

You'll be working 5 to 6 days a week. Our season can run as long mid May to mid October but most staff work late May to mid September. Wranglers have the potential to double their salary in the form of gratuities from clients, but this is not guaranteed and dependent on your customer service.
