The facilities themselves are also top notch. There's a lot of pride and care that radiates from everywhere from the pristine stables to the meticulously combed arenas. Every detail has been thought of twice, and put together beautifully. It's not only a brilliant place to learn, but also to be. For the two and four-legged alike. Even stray animals find their way there and decide to move in! And of course cash in on some of that endless love Rosalyne and Jerry seem to have for anything with fur and soon become yet another member of the ever growing family!
There are also miles worth of beautiful trail riding a stone throw away. One of my favorite parts.
Rosalyne and Jerry have deliberately stayed small (there were 8 horses when I was there) to keep it personal and intimate, and I admire that. I've been to far bigger and busier places that simply aren't able to dedicate as much time and effort to you or their horses. It definitely makes a difference to everyone involved. And best of all, the horses are not "broken". They are great because they choose to be and have been trained in a way that has kept their spirits and personalities in tact, and what wonderful (and some big!) ones they have. I was honored to be given one of her younger ones to start for the first time, and still to this day she is one of my dearest loved horses, and I learned and grew so very much with her.
Well, I'm starting to run out of space again, and I think taking up a third space might be a little excessive..! I really can't say enough about Dutch Friendship Stables though. I mean, it's in the name, and they won't disappoint. If you ever have the privilege to spend time here, appreciate it, grow from it, and just enjoy yourself! Your time spent here will likely stay with you, so love it, love them, and pass on some hugs from me!
And to you guys, thank you. I hope to continue having you all in my life in some way or another.
