Rivendell Stables in Lowell, Michigan, is searching for their next full-time, Head Riding Instructor with an emphasis in Jumpers, eventing and Flat Work! There is some flexibility in the exact duties of the role. If I find the perfect candidate for some of the duties, I may be willing to the split the duties into two positions. The duties include teaching lessons across all levels, managing the RS jump team, drive minimum of 4 horse gooseneck trailer, take students to shows, coordinate shows at Rivendell, ride and train horses and market all programs. I am willing to tailor the position to extremely strong candidates. You must be capable of riding and jumping as part of the interview and do a teaching demo with one of our students. The position requires the ability to ensure horse and student well being, teach with passion and precision, communicate with students and parents, effectively use computers, communicate clearly, learn quickly and be psychologically robust. You must be able to pass a background check to work with our students. Qualifications are as follows:
10-15 years of Equine experience
Minimum of 10 years English riding/show experience
Minimum of 3-5 years teaching experience
-Articulate and capable of teaching applicable constructs
-Know Jumpers and Eventing Rules of Competition
-Hold and renew a variety of Association Memberships
-Experience driving a 4-6 horse gooseneck trailer
-Know horse medical matters and be able to detect if a horse is even slightly off
