Live, work, ride on an island off Cape Cod and work at Historic Private Riding Stable.
$13/hr w/ nice summer housing. May bring horse, (board, included) if it can be your Guide Horse used by others in riding/lesson/trail program.
Seeking fabulous, hard-working, live-in, Rider and Stable Hand for ALL general stable duties, (tacking, lessons, riding, grooming, feeding, some stalls) for the coming 2019 Summer season. English arena and trail riding with an emphasis on Dressage.
ISO SEVERAL HAPPY, HANDS-ON, STABLE PEOPLE to become a part of a small team at a private riding stable with a busy, (but short) summer season and long and quiet winter season.
You must WANT work hard, be at the barn, ride, tack, be willing to be trained in specific ways of doing things and then be able to work independantly once trained.
Eagerness to learn about proper horse care and classical riding and improving yourself as a Equine Professional a huge plus but you must be able to tack and ride immediately.

Job duties: Feeding, Mucking, Sweeping, Turnout, Grooming, First Aid, Tacking, Riding, Training.
30-40hrs/week. Weekends a must.
zero - very few night checks.
2 days off/week...generally in a row.
7:30-4:30 shifts w/ lunch.
This job offers many opportunities including beautiful scenery, incredible beaches, cute new england towns, fishing, riding, etc. that said there are some limitations that come with living on an island that MUST be considered when applying - main limitation is you must live within specific limits of ferry schedule which is free & private but only runs 2-3 times/day.
Not a management position. Reports to Farm Manager.

Must be willing to be in the barn doing barn chores on a daily basis.
Must be willing to lift 40lbs on a daily basis and occasionally heavier loads for shorter periods.
Must have drivers liscence and be willing to drive farm truck.
Knowledge of horse handling a plus. Will train right person!
MUST LOVE animals, horses, cats, etc. Willing to pet sit for collegues on occasion.
Interest or experience with livestock (sheep) and/or farm equipment, (tractors) a plus.
Some riding experience or willingness to learn to ride horse is a plus.
First Aid, First Responder, CPR training a plus but will train. Must be willing to be First Responder trained.
Ability to manage living on an island, which has many "pros" but also some limitations. Must plan ahead for shopping, plans, appointments, etc. Evening social life during work week is limited by ferry schedule.
NOTE: This is not a management position....entry to mid-level position.

Housing is a new freshly painted, private 1-bedroom in shared seasonal employee "farm house". Shared bathrooms and commercial kitchen. all utiities, and wi-fi included.
Some furnishings possible if needed.
You buy your own food, (mainland) and cook your own meals, (on island, your own full kitchen).
Private ferry service included to/from mainland for Employees at no charge.
Parking for 1 car on mainland is free for employees, but car is not absolutley necessary.
