Full time, flexible hours, WEEKENDS AND WEDNESDAYS REQUIRED.
Full-time, year-round position for a large eventing and dressage facility in the Boston area. Weekends are required. We host recognized shows, clinics, schooling horse trials, XC derbies, hunter paces and jumper shows throughout the year.
Event manager and secretary position. You will be responsible for the planning, organization and running of the various events throughout the year. This role requires strong organizational and interpersonal skills and attention to detail. Our show season runs from April to November. Equine related degree is a plus. We host many of our own shows and horse trials. The facility is rented by outside organizations. This requires set up and take down of those shows. We are looking for a highly dedicated and quick learning person to help continue our growth!
The show manager is responsible for sponsorship acquisition, communication with sponsors and clients, and our social media sites. This role requires the tracking of points and results for various shows throughout the season. The show manager is responsible for keeping track of facility use and managing client ring use.
Required skills:
• Proficiency in Google Suite/ Microsoft Office (ability to design flyers is a plus!)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (written and verbal).
• Attention to detail and record keeping through Google sheets is a must.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage staff accordingly
• Ability to be the face of the event and maintain calm in stressful situations.
• Must have strong problem solving skills.
• Clerical duties related to the running of events, including checking competitors in and record keeping (on spreadsheets and on paper).
