Summer Camp Instructor

Job Opening: Summer Camp Instructor The Role: Experienced riding instructor sought to teach beginning to novice level riding lessons and horsemanship as part of a highly structured Meadowbrook Stables Summer Riding Camp program. This person must be comfortable teaching small groups of riders ages 6-14 years old. The instructor should be able to design and teach lessons with specific goals to help riders advance in their skills, while ensuring the safety of both horses and riders. The instructor should have documented previous teaching experience in the hunter, jumper and/or equitation discipline. The instructor will work as part of a team of camp counselors, under the direction of the Camp Director. Schedule: From June 12 - August 18, the Instructor will work Monday-Friday, 8 am-4pm. Opportunity for full-time or part-time teaching role to continue on a permanent basis at the end of the summer camp program as part of Meadowbrook's on-going lesson program. The Organization: Meadowbrook is a full-service hunter-jumper facility located in Chevy Chase, Maryland, just outside Washington DC. We have a large, year-round lesson program, as well as show and camp programs. Horsemanship education is paramount to all our programs, and we strive to teach riders correct and compassionate horse care. Our Summer Riding Camp program is highly-structured, serving 6-9 year olds in a half-day program and 9-14 year olds in a full day program.
