Looking to join a top sporthorse farm and work around quality horses in a professional environment? Hilltop Farm is looking for a stable groom to join our sporthorse breeding operations! The position has the potential to work around foals/young horses, broodmares, stallions, and top competition horses to facilitate the daily operations of the farm. Duties include stall cleaning, feeding, administering medications/therapies, turnout, basic grooming, holding for vet/farrier, and general cleaning duties. The position is a five-day work week but does require weekends (i.e. days off will be weekdays). Ideal applicant will have solid horse handling skills, ability to regularly lift 50 lbs, enjoy a fast-paced environment, and have a valid US driver’s license.
Requirements
- Valid US Driver's License
- Ability to continuously stand or walk
- Ability to bend, squat, and lift heavy objects (50 lbs) frequently
- Ability to climb up onto and down from farm equipment
- Ability to work in traditional barn environment to include dust, walking on uneven surfaces, etc.
- Ability to work outside year-round during inclement weather such as excessive heat, cold, rain, etc.
- Ability to work long hours, evenings, and weekends as required for horse care needs
