We are currently seeking a dedicated, live-in working student with the desire to grow into an assistant trainer role. The position is designed to teach the fundamentals of horse care and training through hands-on work experience. It is essential that the student have a strong work-ethic, good time management skills, and a keen interest in learning. To be clear, we are not looking for an established trainer—we are looking for a motivated working student with the ambition to one day will share in all aspects of management, training, and teaching.
We maintain a 6-day work week with consistent barn hours. Days consist of barn work and routine horse management with the opportunity for a lesson in the afternoon. Board for one horse, trailering to shows, and other fun learning opportunities are available.
Interested candidates must have considerable practical experience with horses and should have prior experience working in a barn setting. The ideal candidate will have a Pony Club or similar background, and will have show experience in beginner novice/novice eventing and/or training/1st level dressage. The candidate should have experience in owning their own horse and in working with children. Candidates that do not meet all of the above criteria are still encouraged to apply, as enthusiasm and a desire to learn are our top priorities.
