Full Time Barn Managment Help Wanted!

Misty Step Stables is a new Hunter/Jumper training barn run by a veterinarian trained in Sports Medicine and Behavior. We are expanding to hire another stable hand and also a barn manager!

The basic tasks for this job can include horse handling (hand walks and rehab care, turn out/in, basic vet care and medications etc), barn upkeep (cleaning, organizing, inventory), ordering (of feed, hay, shavings, medications), and running basic barn errands in the truck. If you want to do some tractor tasks even better, but not required. We're looking for someone with a solid horse care foundation, and barn management experience is not necessary. Dr Boger will continue to help with management at the start, but looking for someone who will be able to work with more autonomy in future months to years. Pay will increase accordingly!

Looking for someone 5 days a week, but which days and the time of day is flexible. Strong preference would be given to someone who can either start early (6am - 2pm) or come later and stay later (noon - 8pm).

We are friendly and fun-loving, but also have a high standard of care for the horses. The right fit would be someone easygoing and self-motivated and someone who is confident and relaxed around all types of horses. We do see behavior cases, and some clients will have aggressive or otherwise stressed horses. Patience and kindness are a must! Anyone interested in sports medicine or equine learning and behavior theory is encouraged to apply.
