We are looking for a caretaker for our mares, foals and yearlings. We are in the process of building a new barn but COVID has pushed barn builders back and horses are in need of love, a strong confident hand & attention as we grow through this time. You must be able to lift 50lbs and roll 3 tie bales around. We use wagons to move excessive weight. Experience with retired racehorses/thoroughbreds preferred. Daily duties include keeping barn & barn area clean and safe. Prep meals, supplements, feeding on a schedule & making bags for 24/7 hay. Clean & fill water buckets, mucking stalls, dusting, sweeping inside barn/horse stalls and keeping up on all equipment used. Rakes, shovels, muck buckets, carts, brooms and all tack cleaned & organized. You must be very aware of the horses and behaviors of the horses in your care. Journal will be provided. We are looking for knowledge, honesty, a positive attitude & good driving record. Newly purchased property with old barns is in the process of being great! Covid has put a damper on building our new barn, so at the moment we are using existing buildings for equipment and horses. We will have training track, a 20 stall barn to include a rehabilitation room, wash stall and bedroom for foal watchers. You can say this is truly a ground floor opportunity that will no doubt make it worth it for someone that goes through the growing pains with us.
