Full time Groom position at dressage facility outside Washington DC in the Maryland countryside. Our trainer is looking for some help so she can ride a few more horses per day.
If you've done the working student thing, but need more income to support yourself and/or your horse, WE WANT YOU! Though this is not a working student position, you will have instruction twice weekly from trainers on your own horse. 5 1/2 day week. Housing is shared on property (private room, shared bath with another groom or working student), utilities included, is furnished and has wifi. Fun team that helps each other out. Plenty of time to visit the city or the many interesting towns/history in our area as well as taking your own horse to events/shows.
Bring your horse if you want, or acquire one while here. Our staff have made extra doing resale projects as board included. Salary generous and training/lessons/time to compete can be included.
Requirements
A resume and letter with your interests and goals. You must have a Visa to work in the USA and be able to come to a working interview for one week.

Although I am still a relatively new Resident Working Student here at Bascule Farm I can already feel the improvement in my riding and my confidence. Julie, Dick and the rest of the instructors here are always so positive in their feedback and make you feel so proud of ever accomplishment, no mater how small it might be. Now, the "work" side of it. Yes, you will have to clean stalls/barn aisles, dump/clean/fill water buckets, clean tack and lead horses in and out, but the system they have in place here makes it not so bad. We work as a team here and that makes it much easier. Be prepared for LOTS of walking! This is a big property and there is a lot of ground to cover. Our day starts at 7am and is usually done by 530/6pm, but there are some days that you will be out later. I am so happy that I made the decision to come to Bascule Farm and I cannot wait to see where this amazing opportunity take me.
