**Full-Time Assistant Trainer/Exercise Rider - We are growing and need more help! We have an Internationally recognized Consulting Trainer, experienced Lead Trainer and Associate Trainer. Check out our website below to learn about our team! We are looking for an Assistant Trainer/Exercise Rider to join our team full-time. This person ideally will be capable of walk, trot and cantering a horse in an arena, outside and on trails, and most importantly will be willing to adapt and learn how to ride Icelandics. We will provide education on what makes Icelandic horses special and how to train/ride them. We provide regular lessons for our staff, and possible showing opportunities. Competitive wages! No housing offered - individual must be willing to procure their own housing, plenty of great rental options in the surrounding areas!
*2-3 Month Internships - Offered Year-Round Starting June 1, 2023 We have great internship opportunities for those interested in learning more about what it’s like to work in equine management or horse training. There is an option to do some product sales/marketing work in addition to either of these focused areas as well. Our internship opportunities can be a specific focus of any of these areas or a mix of them. This would be a 5 day/week Monday - Sunday internship for the duration, housing is provided on-site in a lovely historic home shared with other staff and/or guests as we have people visiting for lessons and clinics regularly.

Requirements
Assistant Trainer Job expectations include:
- Riding horses in an arena, outdoors and on trails under supervision or direction of existing trainers.
- Lunging horses in a round pen/on a line
- Tacking/Untacking their own rides and possibly assisting with tacking for other trainers
- Someone comfortable with progressive horse welfare focused training methods.
Internship Expectations include: Management Internship Duties -
- Assist feeding Hay, Grain and Supplements 3x/Day
- Moving horses to/from turnouts
- Daily health checks and minor medical care
- Regular barn chores (i.e. sweeping, laundry, keeping common areas tidy, etc.)
- Additionally other various tasks as needed
- NO MUCKING REQUIRED!
Training Internship Duties -
- Grooming/tacking horses for the trainers
- Lunging
- Bathing/clipping horses as needed
- Riding horses under supervision of trainers depending on riding skill level
- Regular barn chores (i.e. tack cleaning, sweeping, laundry, keeping common areas tidy, etc.)
- Additionally other various tasks as needed
- Someone comfortable with progressive horse welfare focused training methods.
Product Sales/Marketing Internship Duties -
- Upkeep Inventory List of Products (we are reps for Eques.dk)
- Assist in product photography
- Assist in creating content for our website and social media
