Legacy Sport Horses is seeking a professional, dependable, and experienced Barn Manager/Head Trainer to lead our boutique sales barn and small boarding operation. This role combines leadership, training, and operational oversight to ensure our facility runs smoothly and efficiently.

You will oversee a small team of barn staff, ensuring tasks are completed to high standards and that the barn remains a safe, welcoming environment for horses, clients, and team members. You’ll be responsible for managing supplies, monitoring horse health, and maintaining an organized facility while keeping cash flow in mind. Close collaboration with the barn owner is essential to align priorities, address issues, and support the overall success of the operation.

In addition to management responsibilities, the Head Trainer role involves working with sale horses, preparing them to be safe, reliable, and relaxed for their future adult amateur owners. Your goal will be to ensure horses are accepting the bit, working through from behind, and ideally schooling at training level. Many of these horses are young or transitioning from other disciplines, requiring confidence, patience, and adaptability.

This role does not involve daily chores like stall cleaning, but you will be responsible for maintaining high standards of care for horses, tack, and facilities. Your presence will also be required during client visits and emergencies, and you’ll assist with marketing efforts by riding horses in videos and presenting them to potential buyers.
