Vogt Riding Academy (VRA), located in the heart of Atlanta, Georgia since 1958, is looking for an instructor and barn manager to join our team. This position offers free on-site housing with the opportunity to develop teaching and riding skills, with the option to bring your own horse.

VRA is a family-owned dressage and jumping academy that stays true to its German heritage, offering vaulting, group, and private lessons to riders of all ages and experience levels. VRA is operated by Grand Prix dressage rider and trainer, Anneliese Vogt- Harber.

The ideal candidate will be a highly-motivated, professional, organized individual who has a strong desire to learn and grow, who values horsemanship, and who is a team player. Experience with barn management and teaching is preferable.

Job Responsibilities include:

  • Living full time on property
  • Teaching private and group lessons dependent on skill, experience and comfort level
  • Barn management: * Office administration * Monitoring welfare of horses * Medicine administration when needed * General overseeing of barn duties and chores * Coordinating with farriers, veterinarians, suppliers, etc. * Assisting riding academy students as needed * Supporting with grooming/tacking/untacking when required (minimal)
  • Occasional help with normal barn chores when usual employee is unavailable (rarely)
  • Job requirement is six days per week
