Veterinary technicians play an integral role at Rood & Riddle Equine Hospital Wellington. Our technicians work alongside our veterinarians to ensure the health and well being of our equine patients. This position requires a highly motivated, well-organized, and caring individual.

Job Responsibilities: • Responsible for all aspects of daily horse care while the patient is at the clinic, including treatments, stall cleaning, feeding, watering, grooming, hand walking and turn outs. • Responsible for administering medications as prescribed by veterinarians, ensuring proper dosage and monitoring for any adverse reactions. • Assist veterinarians with examinations, diagnostic testing, treatments, horse handling and restraint. • Ensures accuracy and completeness of patient records, treatment sheets, and other documentation. • Perform basic laboratory tests. • Answers and fields emergency calls after hours. • Communicate clearly with other technicians and veterinarians • Follows company policies and procedures that are outlined in the handbook.

Requirements: • Extensive, previous horse handling experience other than your own • Ability to work with or around sick animals, potentially hazardous materials, cleaning chemicals, gas anesthetics, and unpleasant odors. • Large animal veterinary knowledge • Team oriented approac
