Head Groom / Manager / Beginner Trainer

This is at stay at home position. We are looking for a head groom who can oversee all farm operations and horse care, as well as manage staff. You will also partake in farm duties of feeding, turnout, mucking, grooming, tacking, etc alongside our staff. This person must have experience in farm + grooming, management, and horse care (grooming, tacking up, medications, wrapping, lunging, etc). We have Hunter/Jumper show horses, and host an IEA and IHSA team at our farm. This is a full time position and we will rely on you to ensure our farm runs efficiently and in an organized fashion. This must be someone who is a leader, who leads by example and participation, yet is able to follow instructions of the owner and carry out the farm's current operating system, as well as assist in the daily grooms tasks.

We would also like someone, if possible, who can teach beginner lessons, from first time riders through cross rails level to help with our heavy lesson student load. Teaching mainly weekday afternoons + weekends while our other trainers at show

Tasks to include:

• helping with feeding, turnout, stalls, waters, etc
• daily checks that farm operations are on schedule (feed, water, turnout, etc) and assisting with such
• making feed daily to include important medications and supplements
• customer service - checking in with clients and ensuring their horses needs are met, and reporting any needs/issues to owner
• assisting with tack ups/grooming for full service clients as well as trainer rides daily
• oral or IV medications for horses and adminstering basic first aid for horses (wound care, bandaging, etc)
• checking that all horses are groomed properly by staff and assisting with grooming all horses
• packing for horse shows (tack, wrapping, feed, equipment) and unpacking and making sure all client equipment is returned after
• running farm errands for supplies, supplements, etc
• ensuring any broken equipment is repaired
• teach beginner lessons
